- Memory Comments: DDR3 1333MHz speed requires Intel Xeon X5550 or higher processors. 1066MHz requires Xeon E5520 or higher, Xeon E5506 or lower support 800MHz only. Memory speed will be reduced as the number of modules installed increases. 1333MHz is supported with one DIMM per channel only using Xeon X55xx series. Quad Rank modules do not support 1333Mhz using Xeon 5500 series. Memory upgrading is limited to 1066MHz with one DIMM per channel installed, 800MHz with two DIMMs per channel installed. System will not support more than two Quad Core DIMMs per channel. Please refer to the system manual for proper installation of DIMMs for Single, Dual, and Triple Channel configurations. Any configuration up to 144GB can be reached using 1, 2, 4GB and 8GB modules or kits with Registered ECC DIMMs. Any configuration up to 24GB can be reached using any combination of 1 and 2GB modules with ECC Unbuffered DIMMs.
